A study was carried out at An Giang University to determine the effects of the foliage of Sesbania sesban and Mimosa pigra on intake and digestibility by growing goats fed a basal diet of foliage of Tithonia diversifolia. Four Local goats (10+0.6 kg live weight) were used in a 4*4 Latin square arrangement with four treatments. The diets were: the control of fresh Tithonia foliage with no supplement (FT); fresh Tithonia foliage supplemented with Mimosa pigra leaves (FTM) or Sesbania sesban (FTS) at 1% of LW on DM basis; and fresh Tithonia foliage supplemented with 0.5% Mimosa leaves and 0.5% Sesbania on DM basis (FTMS).
Feed DM intake was increased by supplementation with either Mimosa pigra or Sesbania sesban, or by the combination of both legume foliages (Figure 1). N retention was increased by supplementation with Sesbania alone or Sesbania with Mimosa (Figure 2)
