Livestock-Based Farming Systems, Renewable Resources and the Environment
The study was conducted to determine the effect of paddy rice levels supplement on feed intake and growth ability of rabbits to find the most appropriate level of additional bring economic efficiency to farmers. Thirty five hybrid rabbits (Newzealand x Local) were arranged in a completely randomized design with 5 treatments. The treatments correspond to rabbits were eaten the basal diet is Malvaviscus foliage and paddy rice supplementation at levels 0, 1, 2, 3, 4% by weight of the body. The results showed that, there are the effect of different paddy rice levels supplementation on nutrients intake of rabbits (p <0.05), except for intake of DM, GE and OM. When increasing levels paddy rice supplementation from 0% to 4% lead to increased nutrients intake, weight gain and decrease the feed conversion ratio of experimental rabbits. At the 4% paddy rice supplementation, rabbits have average weight gain was the highest and feed conversion ratio was the lowest.
